Why De La Soul’s ridiculously important albums are unavailable on the face of the earth.

Why you can’t buy De La Soul’s albums: the sample rights are so complicated, Warner refuse to sell them to anyone. 3 Feet High and Rising and De La Soul Is Dead are albums of stupendous cultural importance and impact, and they’re not available on the face of the earth. De La Soul ended up just sending copies out to everyone who wanted one a coupla years ago. (Which they seemed to have obtained from torrents.)

So keep the torrents circulating, join their mailing list, buy and/or Spotify their new album and dig the song they did for Angry Birds. Here’s the album trailer:
