Stealing from someone at the same level as you? In the same (sealed?) environment?
Seen similar in Second Life – people screaming (boycotts etc) about someone else ripping off their clothing design – which was photoshopped from an actual real fashion store. Stealing from the fashion store wasn’t a problem.
It’s as if the socially-assumed licence is something like CC-by-nc-sa, with full history trail.
