Finally starting to get the B-Side scans up. Today we have Issue 4½, a compilation of stuff from June and July 1984 — Celibate Rifles, True West, J.F.K. and the Cuban Crisis, Clinton Walker on The Next Thing; live: Huxton Creepers, Saints, Died Pretty.
B-Side was the Australian indie rock fanzine of the time. Just slabs of text about good bands and records. I directly lifted its format for Party Fears. Brad Lambert got in touch with Simon Lonergan and got the okay to put these up for posterior’s sake.
The issue 4½ compilation was clearly printed in the cheapest possible manner, paper so thin you could read through it, and thirty-five years of yellowing didn’t help at all. But Brad’s 600dpi scans were sufficient for a reasonable recovery job. Even making the photos look decent.
I don’t promise to put these up at any particular pace. It took me six years to get Brad’s scans of Vortex up, after all.
But reread, and remember why this stuff was so good!
