- EBM is apparently the fashionable thing in dance music this year, or maybe next year. Maybe this will translate to sales outside Germany! Futurepop, let alone VNV Nation, doesn’t get a mention.
- Post-punk and post-rock albums redone as Swiss modernist postage stamps. It’s probably relevant that this style was standard on Penguin nonfiction paperbacks through the ’60s and early ’70s, which may be why post-punk didn’t latch onto this style as well even as Saville, Brody, etc., were getting heavily into the stylised record sleeves. I can imagine Peter Saville seeing the Joy Division one and laughing out loud. Somewhat disappointed they didn’t attempt the Fall.
