High seas: ISP warnings don’t work, Facebook content ID, more suits against copyright trolls.

  • ISP piracy warnings don’t enhance box office revenue, and box office revenue dipped when MegaUpload was shut down. I bet you’re shocked, shocked.

  • A content ID system for Facebook. Wonder if the eternal quest for new revenue streams will lead them into streaming directly, and just how much the major labels will be able to extract from them. Or if they’ll get labelish themselves. Remembering of course that Facebook, Google or Apple could buy a major with pocket change.

  • A class action suit against one group of copyright trolls, and it’s a beauty. An amazing scam. If you ever get a letter like this, tell the whole world immediately.
